Yes, $16,200/- will go to 7,200 needy children next year to help
them to get through school. Although the monies were not sufficient, we hope these
$16,200/- will could be multiplied through many more organised events like the one which
Victor's Superbowl had done.
Background:
The School Pocket Money Fund set up by The Straits Times three years ago to help the needy
children.
Who are
these children:
Life has been easy these few years. And the people who have been hit hardest are families
whose incomes have been affected - but who can't cut expenses because they've kids to put
through school for a brighter tomorrow.
The
problems:
Paying for new textbooks, stationery, and uniforms every year has become a really heavy
burden for them. (Imagine doing that for three kids.)
And when
that's done, there's nothing left over for a simple snack at recess. Or even the bus fare
home. |

3,200
kids were helped in 2001,
thanks to your generosity.

5,500
kids were helped in 2002, because you had a heart for them.
This is one of them, Yi

So, on behalf of these needy children, Victor's Superbowl would
like to say a BIG THANK YOU to YOUR BIG HEARTs for the contributions during the Charity
bowl / Celebration party .
Thank you
very much. |
